Vircon Legal advised PulpoAR on its seed round backed by Akkök Group and a syndicate of angel investors.
PulpoAR continued to scale its AR-powered virtual try-on platform for beauty and cosmetics, expanding its enterprise integrations with global brands and deepening its product into hair-color, accessories and skincare experiences served through web and in-store touchpoints. By the seed round, the company had transitioned from a single-feature virtual makeup engine into a multi-experience AR platform with a credible enterprise client roster — the product maturity required to attract corporate-strategic capital alongside financial investors.
Beauty-vertical AR has emerged as one of the most commercially proven applications of immersive technology, driven by measurable lifts in e-commerce conversion and material reductions in return rates for color cosmetics, hair color and accessories. Türkiye’s combination of mobile-engineering depth, a domestic cosmetics manufacturing base and active corporate-strategic capital from industrial groups has produced a particularly well-positioned cluster of builders in this segment. Seed-stage capital from industrial conglomerates plays an outsized role in the Turkish startup ecosystem, often providing the bridge between credible early product traction and institutional growth-stage financing.
Akkök Group is one of Turkey’s longstanding industrial conglomerates with strategic technology investments; the group’s participation brought corporate distribution and partnership reach to PulpoAR alongside an experienced angel syndicate. For an enterprise-facing AR platform, having a corporate-strategic backer with deep partnership networks across consumer and industrial verticals is a different operating asset than capital alone, and shortens the cycle to enterprise reference deployments. For PulpoAR, this stage of the company’s journey set the foundation for the subsequent strategic outcome with The Glimpse Group, with each stage of the cap table positioning compounding into the eventual exit.
