YouStartup Gaziantep — The First Stop with the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce

YouStartup Gaziantep — Gaziantep Ticaret Odası ile İlk Durak

On November 20, 2016, hosted by the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce, the YouStartup Gaziantep event opened the first stop of a tour reaching out to entrepreneurs across Anatolia. At the event, our Managing Partner Erdem Mümtaz Hacıpaşaoğlu and R. Okan Şencan delivered Startup Law 101 outside Istanbul for the first time.

The central thesis of the event was clear: for a Turkey whose entrepreneurial ecosystem is not confined to Istanbul, founders in Anatolia must receive the legal foundations of the journey from idea to exit in their own cities and in their own language.

The first out-of-Istanbul Startup Law 101

The training laid out a startup-law backbone from the idea phase to incorporation, founders’ vesting to first customer contracts, IP strategy to employee option plans. The warm reception and the quality of the participants quickly turned YouStartup into a tour.

What the YouStartup tour represents

Choosing Gaziantep as the first stop was a way to test the thesis that Anatolia’s entrepreneurial potential can scale independently of Istanbul in the field; the next stop in Denizli confirmed it.
