On March 4, 2017, in collaboration with the Denizli Chamber of Commerce and Denizli Technopark, the YouStartup Denizli Pitching Challenge was held. Our Managing Partner Erdem Mümtaz Hacıpaşaoğlu and R. Okan Şencan delivered the Startup Law 101 training, with Mümtaz also serving on the Pitching Challenge jury.
The central thesis of the event was clear: when entrepreneurs in Anatolia gain access to investor rounds, juries and mentors — accompanied by the right legal framework — local ventures quickly reach national visibility.
Program flow
The event opened with Erdal Gökhan Güneş; Başar Kaya (Projemetre) presented public grants and funding; the Startup Hukuku co-founders Mümtaz and Okan Şencan delivered Startup Law 101. The investor panel brought together Günce Önür (Keiretsu Forum), Esranur Kaygın (Sankonline) and Mert Erkol (İzmir Chamber of Commerce investment network).
The Pitching Challenge and winners
Five founders pitched for four minutes and five for one minute; the winning teams were Caddede Ne Var, Mumbara and YEF. The jury included Mümtaz, Okan Şencan, Esranur Kaygın, Başar Kaya, Günce Önür, Ayşe İnal, Fatih Güner and Ekim Nazım Kaya.
