Our Managing Partner, Erdem Mümtaz Hacıpaşaoğlu, took part in the kick-off meeting of the İSTKA-FINTECH Open Innovation Workshop, held on 17 December 2025 at Dijitalpark Teknokent’s Ataşehir Campus (Tech in Cube).
The workshop was organized in collaboration with the Istanbul Development Agency (İSTKA), the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology, and Dijitalpark Teknokent. The program featured opening remarks, a briefing on the İSTKA project, a panel on the fintech ecosystem and corporate collaborations, the open innovation workshop itself, and a presentation of the results.
Fintechs and Corporate Collaborations
The opening sessions explored collaboration models between the fintech ecosystem and corporate players, and the opportunities open innovation creates in financial technologies for both incumbents and startups.
Regulation Committee: Chair and Rapporteur
After the panels and discussions, the experts split into thematic committees. Mümtaz chaired and served as the rapporteur of the Regulation Committee within the Fintech Open Innovation Workshop — bringing to the table the regulatory thresholds facing fintech startups, the compliance requirements in corporate collaborations, and the sector’s regulatory expectations.
As a legal team working across fintech, payments, and regulated verticals, we are glad to contribute the regulatory perspective to ecosystem gatherings like this.
