On Friday, 1 March 2019 (13:00–17:00), at the Istanbul Bar Association Conference Hall, attorney Erdem Mümtaz Hacıpaşaoğlu (Secretary General of the Esports Players Association) spoke at the Esports & Law Summit organised by the Istanbul Bar Association’s IT Law Commission.

Addressing the legal dimensions of the fast-growing esports ecosystem, Hacıpaşaoğlu focused on “Esports Player Contracts and Player–Team Relations.” The panel covered esports federation structuring, national and international regulation and its impact on clubs, the copyright analysis of esports broadcasting under Turkish Law No. 5846 (FSEK), the applicability of Law No. 6222 to esports, and the mutual rights and obligations of game developers and players.
