What is Series A funding?
Series A is the first round of venture capital financing in which preferred stock is issued at an institutional valuation, typically following a seed round and demonstrated product-market-fit. Series A rounds in U.S. tech currently range US$8-25 million; in Türkiye, US$3-10 million is more typical.
Series A documentation includes the Certificate of Incorporation (with the new Series A Preferred Stock), Stock Purchase Agreement, Voting Agreement, Investor Rights Agreement and Right of First Refusal / Co-Sale Agreement — collectively known as the NVCA model documents in the U.S.
